Step Into Spring - Guided Painting Class

Welcome the end of winter one day after the Spring Equinox with “Step into Spring,” a new guided painting class!

Using natural acrylic paints and eco-friendly paint brushes from PROCESS, local artist Alexandra Sosin will be leading you through the process of observational painting - the practice of painting from life and capturing your subject as you see it.

To spark inspiration, the class will be led with a short lesson about the symbolism behind popular houseplants. Houseplants will be provided as references, and are available to purchase from PROCESS.

Generously hosted by Bound to Happen Books in the lower level, this class will run from 2pm to 5pm on Friday, March 21st. To inspire you, help you connect with the earth, and help you look forward to spring, there will be an artist-selected assortment of books available for purchase from Bound to Happen. (Think native plants, foraging, symbolism, and more!)

No painting experience is necessary, but we do feel this class is best for teens and adults.

Tickets include an 11” x 14” canvas and all of your supplies, as well as a coupon for art supplies and plants from PROCESS General Store - as if you needed another reason to sign up!

Please come prepared with clothing that you are comfortable getting paint on (smocks and aprons are not provided).

Date: March 21st, 2025

Time: 2pm - 5pm

Location: Bound to Happen Books: 1008 Main St., Stevens Point, WI

Flowstate IV: Fantastic Faerie Festival

Are you ready for Flowstate IV: Fantastic Faerie Festival?

Flowstate Art Collective is creating its fourth collaborative art show, and our very first two-day event at The Annex in Stevens Point, WI.

Friday, April 25th (5pm - 10pm):

Friday will feature an Artist Night Market, including current members of Flowstate Art Collective alongside a few new selected artists who specialize in whimsical and/or fantasy or ethereal artwork.

Alongside the art market, we have a special performance created by four members of the art collective, featuring ambient sound inspired by fae, myths, and the joy in experimentation!

Saturday, April 26th (11am - 10pm):

Saturday features a variety of workshops, performances, and art installations created for all ages! We will also be including a few select artists who are traveling long distances or are performing on Friday night.

The day is broken into three sections:

“Children’s Hour” being from 11am - 2pm, featuring workshops and performances for a younger audience. All ages are welcome to participate!

Workshops and performances catered to a slightly older audience (teens and adults) will run from 2:30pm - 6pm, with activities catered to teenagers and adults (some workshops may be too difficult for younger children).

And finally, we end the night with performances and workshops for a more mature audience from 6:30pm - 10pm.

There is a $5 cover for both days to help cover the production costs, and workshops will vary in price.

We will release a full schedule by April, stay tuned!
